Eastern European/Russian Affairs
I am very excited to announce that I have been named Feature Writer for Eastern European/Russian Affairs at Suite101.com.
I'll bet you're wondering what that means and what it has to do with the content on this blog. Well, it means that I am in-charge of the Eastern European/Russian Affairs section of the Suite101 site. I will personally be writing at least one article and one blog entry per week for that section. Besides that, I will also be monitoring the discussion area and occasionally starting a poll (hint: look for one in the next several weeks regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine).
You can participate too. In the lower right corner of my articles is a box with several items in it. The top one is to start a discussion about the article. I encourage you to read my articles and feel free to participate in discussions about them. If there is a topic you feel should be included at Suite101, either let me know so I can write an article about it, or if you have your own writing ambitions, join Suite101 as a Contributing Writer and write it yourself.
Will this blog be affected by these changes? The short answer is ... not really. You may have noticed that many of my posts have already linked back to my existing articles at Suite101. I will continue that practice as an easy way for you to find my articles.
What makes this blog different is that I will do my best to continue including information about Chernobyl that may not appear on Suite101. My goal at Suite101 is to provide equal coverage to all Eastern European countries involving politics, environmental issues, social issues, profiles of key individuals, etc. If something new and newsworthy comes out of the Chernobyl area, I may write an article about it for Suite101, but you can be sure that I will write something about it here.
